This Ol' House Is Haunted!
Saturday, October 28, 2017, 7:30pm
Park Royal United Church, Charlottetown
Ezekiel counts them dry bones; Shakespeare’s three witches work their eerie and dangerous magic; Death reminds us that we will all dance to his tune one day; and a brave church deacon confronts four giant ghost cats in a haunted house. Just in time for Halloween, Luminos Ensemble presents a spooky, thoughtful, and occasionally silly concert about our fear of the things that go bump in the night. Featuring music by J.S. Bach, Jester Hairston, Jaako Mantyjarvi, Hugo Distler, Abbie Betinis, Edward Elgar, Dave Matthews Band, and more.

You’ve just met someone special. You think this might even be LOVE, and that perhaps they might feel the same way – but how can you be sure? Wonder no more: Luminos Ensemble is here to make all clear to you. Drawing upon our extensive research into more than 500 years’ worth of choral music, we will answer the most important questions you may have about romantic love, with the help of Claude Debussy, Gerald Finzi, Claudio Monteverdi, Eric Whitacre, Gustav Holst, Paul Sjolund, and PDQ Bach. Join us as we seek the answer to that age-old question: “Is You Is, Or Is You Ain’t My Baby?”
Brahms: Ein deutsches Requiem
Sunday, June 10, 2018 2:30pm
St. Paul's Anglican Church, Charlottetown
This extraordinary work is one of the most important in the choral repertoire. Join us to experience a composition so exceptional that it cemented its creator as on of the "3 B's" of western music history - along with Bach and Beethoven. Presented here in Brahms' own version for piano and chamber choir, this is an opportunity to experience a choral tour de force in a most intimate setting.
