Vocal Ensemble

Auditions for the 2024-2025 season are now closed. Auditions are announced in late spring, and take place in June.

Luminos Ensemble is a professional chamber choir: all singers are paid for rehearsals and performances.

Luminos Ensemble seeks to provide its artists with a meaningful artistic experience; this is an important part of our mission. We are seeking excellent, experienced musicians who enjoy singing a wide variety of music - from ancient to contemporary - and enjoy the challenge of creating compelling ensemble performances in a small ensemble.
 
We rehearse weekly on Thursday evenings September-June, preparing 5+ major projects per year; therefore, a premium is placed on musicianship, professionalism, and personal preparation. A well-developed sense of humour is also an asset.
 
The audition will consist of:
 

• Singing two prepared excerpts from the standard choral repertoire (these will be sent to you once your audition is booked, and do not need to be memorized)

• Singing a short solo piece of your choice, unaccompanied (this does not need to be memorized)

• Vocalizes to check vocal range

• Sight-singing
